Artist Statement
Life is a journey – through many
places, many faces, and many phases.
Judith Huth has enjoyed painting and art throughout her life; however,
she only began full-time painting after retirement. She received a set
of oil paints as a retirement gift, and, as they say, the rest is history.
Her art training includes multiple classes with Johnie Liliedahl in
her Texas studio, and several art/painting workshops with such notables
as Juan Martinez, David Leffel, Morgan Weistling and Sherri McGraw.
These classes have been supplemented by hours of reading, video instruction,
and practice.
Judith only paints in oil; but her subject matter is as varied as her
life has been. Her paintings reflect the many joyous and wonderful things
that she has had the privilege to experience -- landscapes, flowers,
abstracts, impressionistic scenes, still life’s, subdued scenes,
wild colors, etc.
She is a member of several art organizations, and has exhibited her
paintings in several shows and won several awards. Her painting “Summer’s
Tree” won Best of Show in the California Art League’s Quintessence
Show 2006
